SAN JOSE – At the very least two folks had been shot Friday night time at Valley Honest in San Jose, police stated.

The taking pictures occurred round 5:40 p.m. on the shopping center, situated at 2855 Stevens Creek Blvd. in Santa Clara., in keeping with the San Jose Police Division.

The victims had been taken to an space hospital, police stated. Their situation was not instantly identified.

“Please avoid the area while officers investigate and work to ensure everyone’s safety,” police stated in a social media put up.

In a follow-up put up, police stated the taking pictures seemed to be an “isolated incident and not an active shooter.”

“However,” police stated, “officers are evacuating and clearing the mall to confirm there is no ongoing threat to public safety.”

Social media posts from mall-goers captured the chaos inside Valley Honest after photographs had been fired, with some patrons taking shelter the place they may and others operating for the exits.

In a put up on X, Fiona Z. stated she was hiding in a storage room together with her youngsters.

“I can hear people screaming outside,” she stated, including in a follow-up put up that “the gunshot sounded so close.”
