Two injured in carjacking Friday at Martinez Amtrak station

MARTINEZ – A 24-year-old girl was arrested in reference to a carjacking that left two individuals injured Friday at an Amtrak station in Martinez, in keeping with authorities.

The incident occurred round 7:20 a.m. on the station, positioned at 601 Marina Vista Ave.

The suspect ran over the sufferer’s foot, in keeping with Brinser. A second sufferer, an aged feminine, was compelled out of the transferring automotive and dragged till she might free herself, he added.

The victims had been taken to an space hospital with unspecified accidents.

The suspect was tracked to Walnut Creek and arrested round 9:15 a.m., Brinser stated. She was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility on costs together with carjacking, possession of stolen property, aggravated elder abuse and resisting arrest.

Jail information confirmed the suspect remained in custody Friday evening on $240,000 bail.

An officer suffered minor accidents through the suspect’s arrest, in keeping with Brinser.

Roughly 35 minutes earlier than the carjacking was reported, the suspect was concerned in a disturbance on the station, Brinser stated. That incident led to Amtrak issuing her a refund.
