
SAN JOSE — Will Smith shall be out some time longer for the Sharks.
San Jose coach Ryan Warsofsky stated Monday that the second-year winger will miss time till a minimum of January with the upper-body damage he suffered on Dec. 13 towards the Pittsburgh Penguins.
“Smitty’s going to be out here week to week,” Warsofsky stated. “We’re going to reevaluate him in the new year.”
Warsofsky declined to share additional particulars of the damage however stated Smith is “making steps daily to getting better. So that’s the big positive.”
Smith was positioned on injured reserve final Monday.
