When Queensland-based wrestling promotion Pro Wrestling League (PWL) announced its first-ever event in New South Wales, expectations were modest. The company had built a loyal following in its home state, but few anticipated just how enthusiastically the Coffs Coast community would respond once the promotion crossed the border. What followed was a surge of interest that surprised even the organisers.
Under the guidance of local resident and veteran wrestler Luke McKenna – co‑promoter of PWL and known to fans worldwide as “The Australian Sensation” Craven the 2025 Chaos in Coffs event became an overnight success story. McKenna, who has spent more than two decades in the ring and relocated to the region six years ago, played a pivotal role in shaping the event’s identity and connecting with the local community. His involvement helped transform what was initially expected to be a modest regional showcase into a full-scale sellout before the opening bell had even sounded.
Held at the C.ex Coffs Grand Auditorium, the event brought together an impressive lineup of national and international wrestling talent. Fans were treated to a high-energy spectacle that blended athleticism, storytelling, and crowd interaction – hallmarks of PWL’s approach to live entertainment. Beyond the in-ring action, the event generated strong support from local businesses, many of which partnered with PWL or benefited from the influx of visitors. The economic boost reinforced Coffs Harbour’s growing reputation as a destination capable of hosting major live Pro Wrestling events.
McKenna said in an interview with Focus magazine his vision for the show was simple: “Give the community something unforgettable.” Judging by the response from fans and businesses alike, he delivered exactly that.
Following the overwhelming success of the inaugural event, Chaos in Coffs II is now on sale via the C.ex website, with tickets already moving quickly for what is shaping up to be another major night for the region.
