The Super Bowl was last night… it’s Monday morning… and like most people the first thing I do is open up my phone… “What did I miss?”

As I’m aimlessly scrolling for the most recent Travis Kelsey and Taylor Swift sighting while my coffee brews… I see an interesting post on Twitter..

Some “software bro” is reporting that his SaaS company is “blowing up”… which by the way… is up there with the douchiest posts you can read on twitter… BUT…

My friend liked it… so it must be interesting?

As I scroll further I see his comment… “My best guess is the TurboTax commercial”

Now there were a LOT of great Super Bowl ads last night… but the TurboTax commercial was not even in the top 50 for me… In fact, I forgot about it till I saw this Tweet.

See original post below

If I wasn't already a HUGE fan of the Super Bowl… I AM NOW!!!

I just checked @Median's users count and it is blowing up!?!

My best guess is the Turbo Tax commercial?!?!

Not sure…

— Spencer Scott (@AKASpencerScott) February 12, 2024

Again… I typically scroll right past this type of garbage… especially since there are no Grammy Award winners in sight…

But for whatever reason… I decided to click on the Median tag…

That’s when things get interesting!

Almost immediately I heard a voice talking to me through my phone… I’ll be honest… It scared the shit out of me…

I was not ready for a video to autoplay… at least not before my first cup of coffee…

But that wasn’t the scariest part…

The person in the video started talking to me… he stated that it wasn’t a recording… It was a live feed!

And to prove it he would draw a smiley face on my screen…

Then… like magic… a little red smiley face appeared on my screen

“What.. Is… Happening… right now!?” I asked myself

See screenshot below

The man on the website… which I can only assume is the Twitter bro… started talking to me…

He explained that Median is a cobrowsing software?

He says if I click “unmute” we can talk to each other through the website

In total disbelief… I clicked on unmute…

And sure enough… that’s when I met Twitter bro Spencer Scott

I did NOT know this was possible!

“You can talk to people right through the website?!” – I asked

“Yep!” – he replied

Turns out… His company Median offers a live video service similar to what TurboTax highlighted in their Super Bowl commercial…

Which by the way was 45 seconds… which means they spent roughly $10.5 million dollars for an… “eh”… commercial

Here is the commercial

After our conversation… as I sit in shock… staring at my phone… I get DM from Spencer on Twitter…

Apparently over 100 people have signed up for his tool in the last 24 hours…

And…

He thinks the surge in traffic is a result of a handful of companies looking for the ability to provide TurboTax-like support…

WHAT!?! Talk about dumb luck!

While I am out here aimlessly scrolling like an underpaid TMZ reporter for updates on the Chief’s after party… Twitter bros are falling backwards into tens of thousands of dollars in fluke revenue…

The software is cool… I give him that… but you have to be kidding me!
