The girl was recognized as Maddie Elizabeth Fletcher, a 19-year-old from Shelby, North Carolina, in accordance with the Monterey County Sheriff’s Workplace.

The automobile that hit Fletcher’s automobile, which was unidentified, fled the scene and continued driving northbound on SR-1, CHP mentioned. The driving force of the car has not been recognized. Authorities have no idea whether or not medication or alcohol performed a task within the crash, authorities added.

Fletcher was pronounced deceased on the scene because of deadly accidents sustained within the crash, CHP mentioned.
