WALNUT CREEK — An area resident was arrested on suspicion of battery and violating his probation for allegedly trying to hug and kiss a girl by means of her open automobile window, authorities mentioned.

Mohammed Shaikh, 77, a registered intercourse offender residing in Walnut Creek, was arrested final month after the lady recognized him from a photograph lineup. Police say that on July 26, the lady was leaving her house on Sunne Lane when Shaikh got here up behind her, blocking her solely path out of her parking spot, then went round to the automobile and launched himself.
