Union Metropolis police probe tried kidnapping of 11-year-old

UNION CITY – An investigation is underway into the tried kidnapping of an 11-year-old pupil in Union Metropolis, police stated.

The incident occurred round 8:15 a.m. Wednesday within the space of Dyer Road and Meteor Drive, in accordance with the Union Metropolis Police Division.

Police stated the scholar was driving her scooter to Itliong-Vera Cruz Center Faculty when the suspect approached her, grabbed the hood of her sweatshirt and tried to drag her.

The woman escaped unhurt and reported the incident to highschool workers, who in flip notified authorities.

The suspect is described as a tall, heavy-set male sporting a black hoodie with the hood pulled up and a masks protecting his face, police stated. He could also be related to a dark-colored automotive.

Police stated officers are canvassing the realm and reviewing potential surveillance footage.
