President-elect Trump will likely be on Capitol Hill on Wednesday on the invitation of Senate Republican management, in response to three sources accustomed to the invitation.

GOP leaders haven’t launched the time of the assembly, however Trump has met with Republican senators at their weekly Tuesday Republican coverage lunch assembly previously.

Senate Republican Whip John Barrasso (Wyo.) advised reporters Monday that GOP senators would meet with Trump quickly to speak about his agenda.

“We’re likely going to meet with the president, relatively shortly, visit with him, talk about what he’d like to have done. We’re all heading in exactly the same direction,” Barrasso advised the press gaggle, in response to a reporter for Semafor.

One of many large questions that must be hashed out is whether or not to maneuver Trump’s agenda in a single funds reconciliation package deal or break it up into two packages.

He desires the second package deal to be dedicated to extending the expiring Trump tax cuts and decreasing spending.

Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) and Home Republican leaders, nonetheless, would favor to deal with all of Trump’s main agenda objects in a single package deal.

Senate GOP sources say that Home Republican leaders wish to keep away from going by the arduous process of passing a funds reconciliation invoice twice, given their very slim majority.
