Toyota to donate $1 million to Trump inauguration

President-elect Trump’s inauguration is getting $1 million from Toyota Motor North America.

A spokesperson for Toyota confirmed the inauguration donation to The Hill on Tuesday.

Toyota joins Ford and numerous different firms in pledging important donations to Trump’s inauguration. Ford is reportedly donating $1 million.

Meta and Amazon each handed over seven-figure donations of their very own to the president-elect’s inaugural fund final week. Open AI CEO Sam Altman has additionally mentioned he would give $1 million out of his private wealth.

A report from S&P International launched in late November discovered U.S. and European carmakers may lose a most of 17 p.c of their mixed annual core earnings within the case of steep tariffs on Europe, Canada and Mexico. 

Final month, Trump mentioned he would challenge an govt order imposing recent tariffs in the beginning of his subsequent time period on Chinese language, Canadian and Mexican items.

The president-elect mentioned on Reality Social that he would enact 25 p.c tariffs on Canadian and Mexican items, whereas including an additional 10 p.c tariff on Chinese language items. The intention of the tariffs, in accordance with Trump, is to press the international locations to extend their efforts on border safety and combating fentanyl exports to the U.S.
