SWAT group disaster negotiators discuss East Bay resident into give up

MARTINEZ — A disaster negotiation group talked a person into surrendering after he barricaded himself inside a residence, police mentioned.

All of it occurred after the U.S. Secret Service arrived to serve a federal arrest warrant within the 100 block of Macalvey Drive about 7 p.m. on Wednesday, in line with a press release from Martinez police Capt. Patrick Salamid.

The SWAT group out of central Contra Costa County arrived to assist the federal brokers serve the warrant, Salamid mentioned. The particular person in the home for whom the warrant was supposed then barricaded himself in the home and stayed there as SWAT members inspired him to return out.

A member of the group’s disaster negotiation unit finally made contact with the person and efficiently satisfied him to give up.

Police closed the 100 block of Macalvey to automobile site visitors and issued a shelter-in-place for the opposite residents by way of its emergency alert system. The highway serves as a site visitors connection from Alhambra Avenue to Morello Avenue.

No different data on the incident was obtainable, and Salamid referred inquiries to the U.S. Secret Service. Matthew Younger, a spokesperson for the Secret Service mentioned that by coverage, the agent doesn’t verify or touch upon legal investigations.
