Sunnyvale mayor presents excellence awards at State of Metropolis

The Metropolis of Sunnyvale honored its annual Group Award winners on the State of the Metropolis celebration on Saturday, Sept. 21.

Nitya Narasimhan, founder and creative director of Prayukti Arts, was lauded for her contribution to the humanities. Rohan Mittal was named Excessive College Scholar of the 12 months for serving to manage Saint Francis Excessive College’s seventh annual 12-hour hackathon. Leigh Odum, proprietor of Leigh’s Favourite Books/Bookasaurus was tapped as Businessperson of the 12 months. The award for Educator of the 12 months went to Fremont Excessive College English trainer Aisha Lomando.

Mayor Larry Klein offered two Mayor’s Awards of Excellence on the State of the Metropolis celebration. Jan Camp, 92, obtained the person award for her 60-plus years of involvement within the Sunnyvale group. Along with instructing and training Sunnyvale center college college students for greater than 35 years earlier than her retirement, Camp co-founded Our Every day Bread, a Sunnyvale nonprofit that serves scorching meals and extras to anybody in want three days per week at St Thomas Episcopal Church.
