Stockton man killed Friday in East Oakland capturing

OAKLANDA 27-year-old Stockton man was killed and a girl injured in an East Oakland capturing Friday evening, police stated.

The capturing reportedly came about after 9:30 p.m. on the 4000 block of Edwards Avenue, simply south of Interstate 580 and close to Burkhalter Park.

The 2 victims have been apparently sitting inside a parked automobile when the capturing started from outdoors the automobile. Each events have been taken to a close-by hospital earlier than the person died at 10:22 p.m.

The shooter fled the scene earlier than police arrived.

The identify of the person has not been launched, pending notification of subsequent of kin. The lady, who’s a Sacramento resident, suffered superficial wounds from glass shrapnel. Police haven’t disclosed any details about the connection of the victims, or why they have been in Oakland.

No details about the suspect or motive has been launched.

The killing is the 82nd murder investigated this 12 months within the East Bay metropolis and the second in two days, after a 48-year-old man was shot to dying Thursday close to eleventh Avenue and Foothill Boulevard.

Final 12 months, police had investigated 125 homicides.
