Santa Clara intercourse offender will get almost 13 years for youngster enticement

SAN JOSE — A Santa Clara resident was sentenced to 12 years and 11 months in federal jail for posing as a girl to entice a boy to masturbate on digital camera, courtroom information present.

Sergio Casper Contreras, 48, was already a registered intercourse offender and on probation for a previous youngster pornography conviction on the time of the offense. And he has been to jail earlier than; courtroom information say that in 2012 a decide sentenced him to 87 months in federal jail for possessing thousand of graphic footage and dozens of movies depicting youngsters.

This case was initiated in 2021, partially by Contreras himself. After failing a polygraph examination he admitting to possessing an digital gadget that violated his search phrases. Authorities investigated and located he had posed as a 20-year-old girl to entice a 14-year-old boy to masturbate on a video chat website that pairs up strangers.

He had different conversations with boys throughout the identical timeframe, and through the 2012 case admitted to molesting three youngsters in separate, uncharged incidents, two of which occurred when he was a teen, prosecutors alleged in courtroom information.

Contreras’ lawyer wrote in a sentencing memo that Contreras suffered abuse all through his childhood and that this case was a results of Contreras making an attempt to rehabilitate himself out of guilt.

“Mr. Contreras’ actions in this case exemplify his desire to stop the offending conduct and reach out for help,” a protection sentencing memo says. “He has been fully compliant and remorseful from the outset of the case.”

Contreras was charged in 2024 and pleaded responsible two youngster enticement and possession of kid pornography at his first courtroom look, information present.

Contreras is being housed at a federal jail in Victorville, information present. He was additionally ordered to pay $3,000 to the boy he victimized.
