Santa Clara County inmate hospitalized with chest pains dies

SAN JOSE – A Santa Clara County jail inmate died Sunday night at Valley Medical Heart, almost a month after he was admitted for chest pains, in keeping with authorities.

The in-custody loss of life is the county’s eighth of the 12 months.

The inmate was taken to the hospital the next day, Davis mentioned, including that the person’s situation later worsened.

On Sunday, medical personnel carried out emergency life-saving measures on the person in his room, the place he was pronounced useless shortly earlier than 5:30 p.m., Davis mentioned.

The person’s id was not launched Monday.

The sheriff’s workplace Main Crimes Unit opened an investigation into the loss of life and reported no proof of foul play, Davis mentioned.
