San Francisco man convicted of assaulting officer at UN Plaza

A San Francisco man was convicted of assaulting a police officer in United Nations Plaza, District Lawyer Brooke Jenkins introduced Friday.

A jury discovered Jonathan Bissell, 31, responsible of battery on an officer, threatening an govt officer and resisting or delaying an officer, prosecutors stated.

The assault occurred round 1 a.m. on Aug. 31, 2023, when Bissell confronted an officer on responsibility at UN Plaza, threatened him, then punched him within the face and tackled him to the bottom, in line with trial proof.

Prosecutors stated Bissell additionally tried to seize the officer’s firearm throughout the battle, which lasted a number of minutes till backup arrived.

The officer was handled at San Francisco Common Hospital for a head harm, prosecutors stated.
