Richmond man convicted of sexually abusing three ladies

RICHMOND — A 41-year-old Richmond man is going through life behind bars after a jury convicted him of sexually abusing three ladies between 2006 and 2017, prosecutors stated.

On Thursday, Jorge Antonio Silva was discovered responsible on 15 felony counts, together with sexual activity or sodomy with a baby 10 years previous or youthful, based on the Contra Costa County District Legal professional’s Workplace. He’s set to be sentenced on Nov. 21.

The case first got here to mild in 2022 when one of many victims instructed a mother or father that Silva had sexually abused her from ages 4 to eight between 2015 and 2017, prosecutors stated.

Detectives launched an investigation and found Silva had repeatedly sexually abused a second sufferer from ages 9 to 12 between 2006 and 2008, prosecutors stated, including that he often warned her to stay silent in regards to the abuse. As well as, Silva sexually abused a 3rd sufferer from ages 5 to 7 between 2008 and 2010.

Prosecutors stated the case required cautious dealing with as a result of delicate nature of the crimes and the ages of the victims when the abuse occurred. Two of the victims at the moment are adults, whereas one remains to be a minor.

“This verdict brings a measure of justice to those victims who had the courage to speak their truth,” District Legal professional Diana Becton stated in an announcement. “While this verdict cannot undo the harm caused, this conviction ensures the defendant will be held accountable and sends a message to other survivors that they will be heard and supported when they come forward.”
