Richmond: Flare advisory issued at Chevron Refinery

RICHMOND – A visual flare on the Chevron Richmond Refinery prompted a degree one Neighborhood Warning System notification Saturday afternoon.

The Bay Space Air High quality Administration District famous it’s conscious of the flaring and has inspectors on web site responding to the state of affairs, which has triggered public complaints. Officers are documenting and investigating any potential violations of air high quality laws and are helping first responders as wanted.

“Residents should follow instructions from local health officials. The Air District is monitoring this closely,” the Bay Space Air High quality Administration District stated in an announcement.

In accordance with Chevron’s social media web page, the alert issued didn’t require an emergency response or group motion.

“The safety of our workforce, our communities and the environment are our highest priorities,” Chevron officers stated within the posting.

A fast verify on air high quality knowledge from Chevron on Saturday afternoon didn’t point out a powerful affect on native air high quality.
