LOCAL SOFTBALL COMMITS ATTEND RECORD-BREAKING CAL-STANFORD GAME

One small step for Stanford and Cal set the stage for an enormous leap within the historical past of school softball.

When the Cardinal and Bears stepped onto the diamond at Stanford Stadium final month, they made historical past, attracting the most important crowd ever to look at a school contest – 13,207 followers in attendance.

“It was awesome to be at such a historic game and be a part of that crowd’s infectious energy,” Bulanti stated. “Everyone there was excited to support college softball at the highest level, regardless of which college they were rooting for. I felt lucky to experience a small part of what my future softball career will look like, and I’m even more excited to make it a reality in the fall.”

Willow Glen junior Alanna Clincy can’t but signal with the Bears, however she has been dedicated to Cal since September. She made positive to level out the end result when noting how thrilling it was to be in attendance. 

“It was a great experience being a part of the NCAA softball attendance record-breaking game,” Clincy stated. “Watching two competitive Bay Area softball teams play in the football stadium was incredible. Both teams battled, and it was exciting to see Cal win that game. I can’t wait to be a Bear.”

For the document, Cal received 10-8, homering on the sport’s first pitch and counting on a five-run first inning to take management. Clincy cheered the Bears on alongside a few of her Willow Glen teammates and different members of her Cal Nuggets membership group.

Cal doesn’t at present have any publicly introduced Bay Space softball gamers dedicated or signed within the class of 2025.

NEW COACH TO LEAD ST. IGNATIUS GIRLS BASKETBALL TEAM

St. Ignatius has employed Angelique Boccara to be its subsequent women basketball coach, the varsity introduced on Thursday.

The Moreau Catholic soccer group continues to commemorate its state soccer championship in fashion.

The Mariners received a California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) championship in December with a commanding 42-8 victory over Lindsay, claiming the Division 7-AA title and changing into the primary group in Hayward’s historical past to deliver dwelling a state soccer crown.

The highest two groups from the Valley and Mountain divisions advance. It doesn’t matter what unfolds this weekend, the sector is already set. 

De La Salle, the Mountain’s prime seed, will host Foothill. Granada earned the Valley’s No. 1 seed and can play host to San Ramon Valley.
