Pedestrian hit and killed by driver Thursday in Fremont

FREMONT — A driver hit and killed a pedestrian early Thursday in Fremont, police stated.

The collision occurred round 4:30 a.m. close to Fremont Boulevard and Delaware Drive, based on the Fremont Police Division.

The pedestrian was taken to an space hospital, the place they later died from their accidents. The Alameda County Coroner’s Bureau will launch the individual’s identification after it’s confirmed and their subsequent of kin is notified.

The demise marked town’s seventh visitors fatality of the 12 months.

An investigation decided the driving force was touring southbound on Fremont Boulevard, approaching Delaware Drive, when the entrance driver’s facet of their car hit the pedestrian, police stated.

On the time of the collision, the pedestrian was both strolling or using a bicycle eastbound throughout Fremont Boulevard close to the south facet of Delaware Drive, police stated.

There’s a marked crosswalk on the south facet of the intersection, however police stated they didn’t know if the pedestrian was within the crosswalk or additional south of the intersection.

The motive force remained on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, police stated, including that drug and alcohol impairment doesn’t look like an element within the crash.
