UNION CITY – A driver hit and killed a pedestrian Wednesday morning in Union Metropolis, police mentioned.
The deadly collision, the town’s fourth of the 12 months, occurred round 6:25 a.m. on the intersection of Decoto Highway and Royal Ann Drive, in response to the Union Metropolis Police Division.
Police mentioned the pedestrian, a 55-year-old man, was struck whereas crossing Decoto Highway. He was pronounced lifeless on the scene.
The person’s identification is being withheld pending notification of subsequent of kin, in response to police.
The driving force stopped and the scene and cooperated with the investigation, police mentioned. Drug or alcohol impairment, police added, didn’t seem to play a job within the collision.
Southbound Decoto Highway was closed for an investigation and reopened round midday.
