An unticketed airline passenger in Seattle managed to bypass safety and airline officers earlier than boarding a flight certain for Honolulu earlier this week – solely to be apprehended because the plane taxied out, based on Delta Air Traces and the Transportation and Safety Administration (TSA).

“TSA can confirm an individual did go through standard screening and did not possess any prohibited items,” a TSA assertion offered to Fox Enterprise reads. “The individual bypassed the identity verification and boarding status stations and boarded an aircraft at Seattle/Tacoma International (SEA) without a boarding pass.”

It’s unclear how the unticketed passenger was in a position to evade the checkpoints and get onto the plane.

“TSA takes any incidents that occur at any of our checkpoints nationwide seriously. TSA will independently review the circumstances of this incident at our travel document checker station at Seattle/Tacoma International,” the TSA assertion continues.

ALASKA AIR, DELTA TARGETED IN SEATTLE AIRPORT POLLUTION LAWSUIT

The company says that it opens a civil case in opposition to any passenger when there’s proof that TSA laws could have been violated.

In the meantime, Delta Air Traces says that the person was apprehended by legislation enforcement when the plane returned to the gate and the TSA performed further safety checks, together with buyer rescreening.

“As there are no matters more important than safety and security, Delta people followed procedures to have an unticketed passenger removed from the flight and then apprehended,” a Delta spokesperson mentioned. “We apologize to our customers for the delay in their travels and thank them for their patience and cooperation.”

The airline says an investigation is ongoing, however early indications are that the unticketed passenger boarded the flight on the gate with out presenting a boarding cross. The Airbus A321neo sometimes seats round 180 to 220 passengers, based on Airbus.
