Kia is recalling over 80,000 of its electrical and hybrid autos over considerations about airbags, the Nationwide Freeway Site visitors Security Administration (NHTSA) introduced final week.
The recall pertains to 2023-2025 Niro EVs, Plug-in Hybrids (PHEVs), and Hybrid autos, in accordance with the company’s web site.
“The floor wiring assembly [of recalled vehicles] beneath the front passenger seat may become damaged, which can prevent the front airbags and seat belts from deploying properly or cause an unintended side curtain airbag deployment,” the Jan. 17 assertion learn.
When an airbag deploys improperly or unintentionally, the danger of damage throughout a crash can enhance, in accordance with the NHTSA.

Homeowners of recalled autos are urged to go to a Kia supplier, who will examine and repair the ground wiring meeting freed from cost.
