Man who was Lengthy-Time Clarksburg Police Officer and U.S. Marine Veteran, Curtis Alan Dytzel, Passes

Curtis Alan Dytzel of Quiet Dell, WV, went dwelling to be along with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 13, 2025.  Curtis is the son of the late Bernard T. Dytzel and the late Constance Elaine Dytzel.

 

Curtis is the beloved husband of Delores Dytzel and collectively they shared 32 years of a beautiful, blessed marriage. He held her hand as he Man who was Lengthy-Time Clarksburg Police Officer and U.S. Marine Veteran, Curtis Alan Dytzel, Passeshanded from this life into Jesus’ arms.

 

Curtis is survived by three sons: Lance Corporal Isaiah Dytzel who’s serving in the US Marine Corp; Elisha Dytzel of Quiet Dell, WV; and Pastor Jeffery (Ashley) Dytzel of Shinnston, WV.  

 

Curtis is blessed with 4 stunning grandchildren: Reese Dytzel, Thomas Dytzel, and Lincoln Dytzel of Shinnston, WV and his namesake, Rhett Alan Vincent Dytzel of Bridgeport, WV.

 

Cutis can be survived by one sister, Leslie Dytzel of Ashburn, VA and one brother, Bernard T. Dyzel, II of Reedsville, WV. Additionally, Curtis is survived by his beautiful mother-in-law Geneva McCloy, of Rosemont, WV; his six sisters-in-law: Sharron (Gary) Lindsey of West Union, WV; Debbie Vincent of Flemington, WV; Toni (Richard) Conrad of Quiet Dell, WV; Donna McCloy of Virginia; Pam (Greg) Jones of Kentucky, Bobbie Jo (Richard) Value of Fairmont, WV; and two brothers-in-law: Calvin (Loretta) McCloy of Kansas and Martin (Lisa) McCloy of  Rosemont, WV and quite a few beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

 

Along with his dad and mom, he was preceded in demise by his father-in-law, Charles McCloy, and two brothers-in-law, Larry Vincent and Donnie McCloy.

 

Curtis proudly served within the USMC and is a retired police officer from the Clarksburg Police Division. Curtis’ long-term police companion, John Sedlock, additionally turned his greatest pal.

 

Curtis was an avid baseball fan and beloved enjoying golf. He loved each teaching and umpiring baseball. Curtis will all the time be remembered for his fast laughter, compassionate coronary heart, UNO expertise, trivia mastery, love of historical past, and wonderful braveness. His household is grateful for Curtis’ life and legacy of service to his fellow man.

 

Curtis’ household needs to provide a particular “thank you” to the completely phenomenal nurses and docs of the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System.

 

Household will obtain pals at Davis Funeral Dwelling, 124 Olen Thomas Dr., Clarksburg, on Thursday, July 17, 2025 from 4:00-7:00 PM.
