Lots of of bronze vases stolen from East Bay cemeteryIn Dec., an estimated 200 bronze vases had been stolen from gravesites at Oakmont Memorial Park in unincorporated Lafayette, the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Workplace introduced Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2025. (Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Workplace) 

LAFAYETTE – An investigation is underway into the theft of an estimated 200 bronze vases from gravesites at a cemetery in unincorporated Lafayette, authorities stated.

Oakmont Memorial Park reported the theft to the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Workplace in December.

“Oakmont staff noticed the vases were missing, but it was not known exactly when they were stolen,” the sheriff’s workplace stated in a social media submit Wednesday.

A memorial bench on the cemetery was additionally vandalized, in line with the sheriff’s workplace.

The sheriff’s workplace stated the investigation is ongoing.
