Katy Perry survives scary live performance second: ‘Not today, Satan’

A scary second occurred late in Katy Perry’s sold-out live performance at Chase Middle in San Francisco on Friday (June 18).

It occurred throughout one of many Perry’s (roughly) 278,433 aerial/high-rise sequences within the present, because the celebrity boarded a large black mechanical butterfly and soared off excessive above the gang through the anthem “Roar.”

All of the sudden, the butterfly lurched downward, as if certainly one of its cables holding it aloft had come unfastened, drawing gasps from KatyCats (aka, Perry’s followers) because it appeared that the celebrity may fall or in any other case be in critical hazard.

Luckily, the vocalist was OK and would end her journey on the none-too-steady butterfly again to the stage. Disembarking from the creature, Perry would utter a memorable response to the mishap — one which followers would instantly start quoting.

“Not today, Satan,” mentioned the singer, who began off her profession in Christian music earlier than occurring to seek out large fame within the mainstream pop world.
