It’s been a implausible spring for jazz music within the Bay Space, with such large abilities as Brad Mehldau, Kenny Barron and Terence Blanchard acting at our native venues.

And the pattern joyfully continues as Hiromi returns to the Bay Space to play seven reveals in 5 nights.

That adverb used above — joyfully — was very fastidiously chosen, provided that few artists exhibit extra pure pleasure throughout their live shows than Hiromi. Mix that side with the truth that she’s a first-tier jazz piano virtuoso — who can amaze together with her fleet finger work and high-flying solos — and also you’ve actually obtained a performer price catching in live performance.

Followers have 5 possibilities to do exactly that as Hiromi celebrates the discharge of the brand new album “Out There” together with her Sonicwonder quartet — that includes trumpeter Adam O’Farrill, bassist Hadrien Feraud and drummer Gene Coye — at SFJAZZ Heart in San Francisco April 17-20. Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. April 17-18, 4:30 and seven:30 p.m. April 19 and seven p.m. April 20. Tickets begin at $30, sfjazz.org. (This marks a reasonably fast return journey to the venue for Hiromi, who simply opened the 2024-25 SFJAZZ season again in September with a pair of duo gigs with legendary bassist Stanley Clarke.)

Hiromi’s Sonicwonder additionally performs at 7 and 9 p.m. April 21 at Kuumbwa Jazz Heart in Santa Cruz. Tickets begin at $31.50, kuumbwajazz.org.
