LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The Lonoke County Sheriff’s Workplace (LCSO) introduced on Saturday {that a} Jacksonville man was arrested after an investigation into animal cruelty.
Officers acknowledged that 38-year-old Daniel Marlin Toennies was taken into custody on 19 counts of aggravated animal cruelty, a category D felony.
A Fb publish by the LCSO acknowledged that investigators have been despatched to the South Bend space of Lonoke County after they got an nameless tip regarding malnourished and uncared for canine.
They arrived and located 16 canine alive and three lifeless, with the surviving canine tied up with brief chains and ravenous with no meals or water.
“This case is heartbreaking, but it shows the power of working together,” Sheriff John Staley mentioned. “Because someone cared enough to speak up, and because of the quick response from our investigators and rescue partners, these dogs now have a second chance at life. Animal cruelty will not be tolerated in Lonoke County. We are grateful to everyone who played a part in saving them.”
Officers acknowledged that the canine are actually protected and receiving care.
