Individual hit by BART practice in Oakland

OAKLAND – An individual was hit by a BART practice Wednesday in Oakland, officers stated.

The incident occurred round 5:40 p.m. on the twelfth Road Oakland Metropolis Heart Station, based on BART spokesperson Chris Filippi.

“Someone entered the trackway for an unknown reason and was contacted by a train,” Filippi stated in a recorded message. “The person was removed alive from the trackway and taken to a hospital.”

An replace on the particular person’s situation was not obtainable.

The station remained open following the incident, however trains working within the Antioch and Richmond instructions didn’t make stops there for about an hour. Regular service resumed round 6:50 p.m.
