Hillsborough Police launch sketch, search public’s assist figuring out suspect in taking pictures of police officer

Hillsborough police are asking for the general public’s assist in figuring out an individual of curiosity and suspect after a police officer was shot in a police division parking zone on Feb. 22.

On Saturday police launched a sketch of a person seen close by shortly after the incident. “Witnesses reported this individual was running southbound on El Camino near Carol, Cypress, and Barroilhet in Burlingame at approximately 5:30 PM on February 22, 2025,” in line with the division’s launch.

“The individual appeared anxious and was looking back frequently, suggesting an attempt to avoid detection,” police mentioned of their assertion. They described the particular person as 25 to 27 years outdated, round 5’6″, with quick black hair.

In line with the press launch issued that day, the person entered the rear parking and “ambushed” a police officer shortly earlier than 4 p.m. The officer was struck and returned fireplace, and the shooter fled on foot.

The officer was taken to San Francisco Common Hospital, however has since been launched and is recovering at residence, in line with Hillsborough police Capt. Meme Colla.
