EMERYVILLE — It’s not typically {that a} cheese pizza causes a life-or-death scenario, however that’s what a comfort retailer clerk reportedly encountered earlier this month.

The difficulty began on the evening of Jan. 2, when a person bought a cheese pizza from the 7-Eleven on San Pablo Avenue in Emeryville, then got here again to return it. When his request for a refund was denied, he allegedly threatened to kill two clerks on the retailer, authorities stated.

The 35-year-old man was later arrested and booked into Santa Rita Jail. Police say that he not solely filmed himself making the menace, however that safety footage from the shop left little doubt: he allegedly made a throat-slashing gesture whereas yelling on the clerks.

No fees have been filed in opposition to the suspect, courtroom data present.
