East Bay youth referee sentenced on baby exploitation, gun prices

BRENTWOOD — An East Bay youth soccer referee is headed to state jail after pleading responsible to felony baby exploitation and firearm prices, prosecutors stated.

Tommy Ray Vance, 48, of Brentwood, was sentenced Monday to 2 years and 10 months in jail, in accordance with the Contra Costa County District Legal professional’s Workplace. A choose additionally ordered him to register for 20 years as a intercourse offender after he’s launched from custody.

In April, Vance organized to satisfy an individual he believed to be a 13-year-old baby at a park in Brentwood for intercourse, prosecutors stated. The kid was truly a Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Workplace detective, and Vance was arrested when he arrived on the park.

Authorities served a search warrant at Vance’s house and found greater than a dozen weapons, which he was prohibited from proudly owning as a consequence of a 1996 conviction for arson, intimidating a witness and assault with a lethal weapon, in accordance with the district lawyer’s workplace.

On the time of his arrest, Vance was working part-time as a volunteer youth soccer referee within the county, prosecutors stated.
