A Richmond man was convicted Friday for a San Rafael road taking pictures that partially paralyzed the sufferer.

A jury discovered Jose Alejandro Delacruz, 26, responsible of tried homicide and assault with a firearm after a three-week trial. Marin County Superior Court docket Decide Kevin Murphy scheduled the sentencing for Might 13.

Delacruz fled in a car pushed by Daisy Rodriguez. Her boyfriend, Edwin Gramajo Reyes, was with them. Reyes and Rodriguez pleaded responsible in 2021 to being equipment to the crime after the actual fact.

Delacruz’s protection lawyer, Jon Rankin, didn’t dispute the allegation that his consumer used a firearm, however he informed jurors there was no proof from police and witnesses that proved that Delacruz had the intent to kill the sufferer.

“It’s sad that young people are walking around on the streets of San Rafael with guns,” Rankin stated after the decision. “It’s a dangerous situation. Bad things inevitably happen.”

Throughout his testimony, the sufferer stated he forgave Alejandro Delacruz.

“I think we all make mistakes,” he stated. “It’s not my job to judge him. God is the only one that can judge us.”
