Democrats’ smash-and-grab politics

Democrats’ smash-and-grab politics

OPINION:

It’s now clear smash-and-grab looting is an enduring Democratic contribution to the nation since they took Congress and the White House in 2020.

You’ve heard the stories. You’ve seen the videos. Gangs of people, most are covered up with masks and hoodies (but I have a tiny feeling it’s not to protect themselves from COVID-19) as they storm retail stores smashing display tables, swiping expensive handbags or jewelry or kicks, scooping up as much as they possibly can as though it was a game show.

Americans are appalled at the careless vandalism, the terrorized workers, and the arrogant glee with which these bums swarm and loot. Yet there is another smash-and-grab looting going on right under our noses conducted by Democrats in the halls of Congress and in the name of “legislation.” It’s a quieter, more genteel mass robbery, but it is also destroying lives, condemning small businesses to ruin, and placing into question the future of our great nation.

Make no mistake: The so-called “Build Back Better” to bankruptcy bill is nothing more than smash-and-grab looting of our country. It passed the House and is now awaiting action in the Senate. It is a behemoth much like Obamacare, which was also a targeted destruction of an American institution and our personal freedom.

Obamacare was a bill, so giant no one actually read it, which made House Speaker Nancy Pelosi absolutely giddy. Mrs. Pelosi told the skeptical, “We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it,” cackling at the time about what was really a massive redistribution of wealth while consolidating “health care” power in the hands of a careless and incompetent government.

Instead of passing a bill to find out what will happen, retail workers now have to go into work to find out whether or not they’ll be robbed and terrorized by a band of miscreants. Maybe their job will be gone as stores are forced to close because of shoplifting, looting and violence. All due to Democratic Party policies that have decimated local police forces with some malevolent “activists” and politicians romanticizing looting as “reparations” and “justice.”

The academic theories driving the leftists in control of the Democrats at the local level and in Washington, D.C., is a vomitorium of resentment and entitlement, policies and legislation meant to annihilate, oh excuse me — “fundamentally transform” — the American way of life. Like looters running off with 10 Louis Vuitton bags or three pairs of Nike kicks, the Democrats, Pelosi, Schumer, and the AOC gang of idiotic progressives are smashing and grabbing all they can.

Among so many things, the bill includes billions for “tree equity.” It injects the cancer of critical race theory and climate change into medical funding. There are tax credits for the rich to buy electric bicycles. It expands Obamacare propaganda. It taxes small businesses. There’s money for gun control and expansion of the IRS (the one law enforcement agency the Democrats think deserves to exist). It provides $10 billion for the left’s pals in the universities. And as reported by Breitbart, “Illegal immigrants would be eligible for federal student aid (page 78) and the enhanced child tax credit (page 1647).”

It is the ultimate leftist fantasy looting that no one wants, will bankrupt the country, and, oh yes, according to the Congressional Budget Office, it also provides amnesty for 6.5 million illegal immigrants.

Yes, they snuck that in, too. “The CBO concluded in November that approximately 6.5 million noncitizens who live in the U.S. largely as a result of illegally crossing the southern border before January 2011 would be granted parole and immediately go from being unlawfully present to lawfully present. The proposal would be the largest-ever amnesty, double the size of the one that went through during the Reagan administration in 1986…” reported the Washington Examiner.

“All parolees and lawful permanent residents are eligible for a number of federal benefits programs, including subsidies for health insurance under Obamacare, Medicaid, the earned income and child tax credits, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, Social Security, and Medicare. … The conservative Center for Immigration Studies concluded that the bill doing away with the requirement that children have a Social Security number for a parent to obtain the child tax credit could result in $10.5 billion being paid out,” reported the newspaper.

And like the looters and rioters in blue cities across the country, they do it simply because they can. They know they don’t have a mandate; all polls make clear the rejection by the American people of everything they’ve done. They’ve seen their own failures and catastrophes unfold, ranging from Afghanistan to the economy to the supply chain crisis to the slapstick handling of COVID-19. And. They. Don’t. Care.

Like the looters, they know they won’t go to jail, no one is going to shame them, and even if it hurts people, that’s OK, too, because they convince themselves of the lie that the American people are “White supremacists” and rubes and deserve it.

So next time you see a frightening video of a bunch of thugs running through a store terrorizing people while taking everything in sight and robbing innocent bystanders, remember: What you’re seeing is a microcosm of what the Democratic Party and the establishment are doing to this country right now on a massive level in Washington, D.C.
