A Delta passenger jet caught hearth on the tarmac at Orlando Worldwide Airport Monday and passengers needed to evacuate by way of the emergency slides, the Federal Aviation Authority stated Monday.

Delta Air Traces Flight 1213, sure for Atlanta, was pushing again from the gate for departure at round 11:15 a.m. native time on Monday when an engine caught hearth, the FAA stated in an announcement. 

There have been no preliminary experiences of accidents.

“The fire was contained and is out,” a spokesperson for the Orlando airport stated, including that fireside crews are on the scene.

In keeping with Delta, the aircraft, an Airbus 330, had 200 passengers, 10 flight attendants and two pilots on board. The airline stated crews evacuated the cabin when flames had been seen within the tailpipe of one of many aircraft’s two foremost engines.

A Delta flight was evacuated on the tarmac at Orlando Worldwide Airport after an engine hearth on April 21, 2025. 

Passengers have returned to the terminal constructing and Delta stated it is going to herald further plane to assist get clients to their ultimate locations at this time.

The FAA stated it is going to examine the incident and Delta stated upkeep groups will study the plane.
