Cupertino Protected Routes to College hosts bike abilities workshop

Cupertino Protected Routes to College hosts bike abilities workshop

Bike abilities workshop

A center college bike abilities workshop is about for Aug. 10, 8:30 a.m., on the Cupertino Senior Heart, 21251 Stevens Creek Blvd. The workshop is offered by Cupertino Protected Routes to College in partnership with Wheel Youngsters.

This system features a classroom security presentation, driving abilities drills on a blacktop, and a bunch trip by the neighborhood to place the teachings and abilities into follow. One dad or mum or guardian is required to attend the category with every pupil. Scholar and guardian each must convey a motorbike and helmet.

 CREST nominations open

The Metropolis of Cupertino remains to be taking nominations for its annual CREST Awards, recognizing excellent people and organizations who’ve gone above and past to serve the group. Award classes embody Lifetime Achievement, Volunteer of the 12 months, Group of the 12 months, Rising Star of the 12 months and Hometown Hero.

Nominations are due by Friday, Sept. 5. Winners might be honored on the Cupertino Group Service Awards on Wednesday, Oct. 29. To see award standards and submit a nomination, go to cupertino.gov/crest.

Civic survey

The League of Ladies Voters of Cupertino-Sunnyvale helps develop a brand new civic management coaching program designed to organize future board members, commissioners and changemakers in Silicon Valley.

This system, a partnership between De Anza School and native civic organizations, is at the moment within the design section. Organizers created a brief survey to assemble suggestions from potential contributors and group leaders to assist form this system for launch.
