Bay FC scores first, however falls 2-1 at Portland Thorns FC

PORTLAND, Ore. — Olivia Mountrie scored twice to guide the Portland Thorns to a 2-1 come-from-behind victory that formally ended  Bay FC’s  slim playoff hopes.

Saturday evening’s win boosts the playoff credentials of the Thorns (9-7-7), who transfer as much as fourth within the standings and are actually degree on factors with third-place Gotham FC.

Bay FC’s winless streak stretched to 12 video games because it remained in thirteenth place within the 14-team NWSL.

Bay FC (4-12-7) scored first on Taylor Huff’s aim from the sting of the field within the thirty sixth minute.

The outstretched glove of Thorns goalkeeper Mackenzie Arnold prevented Alyssa Malonson from giving Bay FC a 2-0 lead from 11 yards out within the thirty ninth.

The second leg of Bay FC’s Northwest highway journey can be subsequent Friday evening when it visits Seattle Reign FC.
