Antioch man dies after crashing into motorcyclist in East Oakland, police say

OAKLAND — A drunk driver crashed right into a motorcyclist Friday night time in East Oakland, killing himself and leaving the motorcyclist critically injured on the pavement, based on Oakland Police.

A 47-year-old Antioch man driving a Toyota Corolla collided with a 47-year-old man touring northbound on a motorbike at about 9:23 p.m. on the intersection of forty second Ave. and Worldwide Boulevard, police stated Saturday.

Police discovered the Corolla driver unresponsive allegedly with open containers of alcohol and marijuana within the car. He died from accidents suffered within the crash, based on police. Police Saturday had not launched his id, pending notification to his subsequent of kin.

The collision ejected the motorcyclist from his bike, falling to the bottom, based on police. He was transported to a hospital and by Saturday morning was reported in important however steady situation, police stated.

Police stated it seems alcohol and probably medicine could have influenced this crash. This incident stays beneath investigation.

Authorities ask anybody with data on this case to name Oakland Police visitors investigators at (510) 777-8570.
