A New Bitcoin is Born!

A New Bitcoin is Born!

On January 9, 2025, a new Bitcoin released its source code.

The new Bitcoin is called Bitcoin Krypton. Bitcoin Krypton is a mining method based on proof of work (PoW), the same method as Satoshi Nakamoto’s Bitcoin, and has a total mining volume of 21 million. Satoshi Kei, the founder of Bitcoin Krypton, says:

The essence of Bitcoin is not blockchain technology.

Through the white paper, Bitcoin clearly stated that it is “a peer-to-peer finance that can operate on its own without the intervention of a trusted third party”, and that the technology that made this possible is blockchain.

Here, the most important thing is that the essence of Bitcoin is “without the intervention of a trusted third party.”

However, the current Bitcoin has changed too much due to the intervention of a trusted third party.  The 2017 Segwit update was a source code change by a group of trusted third-party developers to use the Lightning Network in addition to the original distributed ledger in order to achieve the goal of lowering the transaction speed and cost of Bitcoin.

It also calls into question the belief that the total supply of Bitcoin will be maintained at 21 million in the future.

What we need to achieve the full goal of Bitcoin is complete decentralization without the intervention of a trusted third party, and to achieve this, we need a new Bitcoin that can be maintained continuously without updates at any point in the future.

We have finally achieved that, and now we are about to take a new step. (Satoshi Kei)
