SAN JOSE — A person was arrested on suspicion of hit-and-run and driving underneath the affect after he crashed right into a meals financial institution warehouse Wednesday night time in San Jose, based on authorities.

The incident occurred round 10 p.m. on the Second Harvest of Silicon Valley warehouse within the 700 block of Curtner Avenue, a San Jose police spokesperson mentioned.

The motive force ran from the scene however was arrested a short while later. He was taken to an space hospital with minor accidents earlier than being booked into Santa Clara County jail on costs of hit-and-run, DUI and evading a police officer, the spokesperson mentioned.

Nobody contained in the warehouse was injured, and the crash didn’t influence the meals financial institution’s operations, based on Second Harvest of Silicon Valley spokesperson Diane Baker Hayward.

“Our trucks are moving in and out as usual, food is on its way to the community, and all volunteer shifts will proceed as scheduled,” Hayward mentioned, including that no meals was misplaced on account of the crash.
