‘Dreamscape’ winner

Monta Vista Excessive College junior Claire Ma was among the many winners in ArtNow 2025, the annual juried artwork present for highschool artists produced by New Museum Los Gatos, aka NUMU.

Ma’s acrylic and oil pastel portray “Looking Back Into The Past” gained a Judges’ Recognition award within the portray class.In whole, NUMU awarded over $10,000 in money prizes, scholarships, and College Artwork reward certificates at a Could 3 ceremony.

The ArtNow exhibit options works by 83 college students from throughout Santa Clara County, all on the theme of “Dreamscapes.” It’s on view on the museum, positioned at 106 E. Foremost St. in Los Gatos, by means of July 20.

Granting entry to nature

Santa Clara Valley Open Area Authority is accepting proposals for its 2025 City Grant Program, which funds native initiatives that join folks in city communities to nature. Grants from $30,000 to $75,000 can be found to nonprofits, colleges and public companies for initiatives similar to environmental training, outside occasions, courses and packages.

Since 2016 the City Grant Program has awarded $5.6 million to 74 group initiatives, serving each district inside the authority’s jurisdiction, particularly underserved and park-poor areas in San José, Campbell, Milpitas, Morgan Hill, Santa Clara and unincorporated areas of Santa Clara County.
