FRANCE 24 spoke to Iuliia Mendel, who was the spokesperson for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky from 2019 to 2021. She is the creator of “The Fight of Our Lives: My Time with Zelenskyy, Ukraine’s Battle for Democracy, and What It Means for the World”. In an interview with British journalist Piers Morgan on Tuesday, the Ukrainian president stated he was prepared to barter straight along with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. Mendel known as this a “very realistic approach”, saying that “continuing this war of attrition actually is making us weaker”. Mendel added that the “majority of the people [in Ukraine] definitely agree [on the need for a] ceasefire”.
