Sunnyvale: Two arrested in deadly 2017 capturing

Two suspects have been arrested in reference to a 2017 capturing in north Sunnyvale that left one man lifeless and one other wounded, authorities stated.

The Sunnyvale Police Division SWAT staff arrested Vicente Aguilera-Chavez in East Palo Alto and Agustin Sandoval in Escalon in San Joaquin County on Friday following a two-day operation. Each suspects had been then booked into the Santa Clara County Jail on homicide expenses, in accordance with Sunnyvale police Capt. Dzanh Le.

The investigation stemmed from the June 8, 2017, capturing at a car parking zone within the Truthful Oaks Plaza, positioned within the 900 block of E. Duane Avenue. About 2 a.m. that day, police responded to a report of pictures being fired. Edu Veliz-Salgado, 21, was found lifeless on the scene whereas one other man, a 24-year-old, was discovered shot and wounded close by. The suspects took off earlier than police arrived.

Police are nonetheless investigating a motive for the capturing. Le stated the division doesn’t imagine the victims and suspects knew one another previous to the June 8 incident.

Veliz-Salgado was Sunnyvale’s first murder sufferer of 2017.
