Shavies stated the fatality was the seventieth murder this 12 months.

“We’re thankful that no one else at this crowded, family friendly event was harmed,” Shavies added.
“I want to send my heart, prayers and thoughts to those who have been victimized,” stated Mayor Sheng Thao throughout a press convention Sunday morning. “Not just to the family members of the victim, but those who were there on that day who were terrorized. There is no place for violence here in the city of Oakland. This is an annual event, where we have seen year after year peaceful gatherings of the alumni group with McClymonds High. It is unconscionable that someone would … take someone’s life during a party celebration.”
Neighborhood members and volunteers had been on the scene Sunday cleansing up the world after the capturing left the placement in disarray.
Thao stated the varsity would supply grief counseling to these traumatized by the capturing.
“I also want to acknowledge that there are community leaders who are here in the city. We have resources for great grief counselors,” Thao stated.
The Oakland Police Division is urging anybody who could have particulars in regards to the capturing to name 510-238-3821.
