De Anza Faculty eligible for nationwide prize for top achievement

De Anza Faculty has been named one in all 200 group schools nationwide eligible to compete for the 2027 Aspen Prize for Group Faculty Excellence.

Awarded each two years by the Aspen Institute, the $1 million Aspen Prize honors schools that display excellent outcomes in scholar studying, diploma and certificates completion, switch and bachelor’s attainment, workforce success and equitable entry to schooling.

The Aspen Institute Faculty Excellence Program goals to strengthen increased schooling management and follow to enhance scholar outcomes. De Anza has made the primary lower on this competitors thrice earlier than: in 2023 for the 2025 competitors; in 2021 for the 2023 competitors; and in 2019 for the 2021 competitors. The Cupertino faculty will now have the chance to use for the 2027 Aspen Prize.

Eligibility for the Aspen Prize relies on a evaluation of almost 1,000 group schools throughout the US. Previous winners have demonstrated management in serving to college students study, full credentials, switch to four-year establishments and safe robust jobs after commencement.

“This recognition speaks to the dedication of our faculty, staff, administrators and students, and to the strength of De Anza’s culture of continuous improvement,” mentioned Omar Torres, president of De Anza Faculty. “We are honored to be recognized among the nation’s leading community colleges for our commitment to equitable student achievement.”
