U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-Ala, is dealing with pushback after saying Google is in charge for Alabamians not with the ability to watch faculty soccer matchups over the weekend on YouTube TV.
“Alabamians are excited to watch Bama/LSU and Auburn/Vandy this weekend,” Tuberville stated in a submit on X.
The response to this submit has resulted in over 300 feedback principally telling the senator that Disney, mother or father firm of ESPN, is in charge, not Google which is the mother or father firm of YouTube TV.
“None of these Big Tech firms deserves sympathy, but you should get your facts straight,” one commenter wrote.
“ESPN/Disney is holding us for ransom. They are the devil in this. Not YTTV,” one other added.
AL.com contacted Tuberville‘s workplace for remark.
Final week, Youtube TV pulled ESPN content material from the platform as their mother or father firms couldn’t attain a contractual settlement.
Google beforehand accused Disney of “costly economic terms that would raise prices on YouTube TV customers and give our customers fewer choices.”
