Redwood Metropolis man arrested on suspicion of setting hearth to house constructing

A 35-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of arson in Redwood Metropolis on Saturday after a fireplace erupted at an house constructing that morning, which investigators deemed suspicious.

The hearth broke out about 7:53 a.m. within the 1300 block of Marshall Road and broken three residences, in line with an announcement from the Redwood Metropolis Police Division on Sunday.

The constructing was safely evacuated and no accidents had been reported.

After an investigation led police and firefighters to imagine the fireplace was deliberately set, a Redwood Metropolis resident was recognized as a suspect and arrested, in line with police.

He was booked into San Mateo County Maguire Correctional Facility on a number of costs, together with a probation violation and arson to an inhabited dwelling.

He’s scheduled to make an preliminary court docket look Monday, in line with jail information.
