OAKLAND — A 63-year-old bicyclist died Friday night time after reportedly operating by way of a cease signal and colliding with two automobiles, in keeping with Oakland Police.

Police stated the person, reportedly an Oakland resident, rode his electrical bike southbound someday round 6:20 p.m. by way of a cease signal at E. sixteenth Avenue and Miller Avenue earlier than allegedly colliding with a Ford SUV touring eastbound on E. sixteenth Avenue. The person then struck a Honda sedan touring westbound on E. sixteenth St., police stated.

The bicyclist was reportedly taken to an space hospital the place he was pronounced useless, in keeping with authorities.

Police Saturday had not launched the sufferer’s id, pending notification of the person’s subsequent of kin.

The Ford and Honda drivers remained on scene to cooperate with investigators, police stated. It’s unclear the harm sustained to their automobiles.
