LOS ANGELES — 5 individuals are lifeless after a small airplane crashed on Catalina Island off the Southern California coast, authorities mentioned.
The dual-engine Beechcraft 95 crashed shortly after 8 p.m. Tuesday, simply moments after it departed from Catalina Airport close to the island city of Avalon, in keeping with the Federal Aviation Administration.
5 folks have been on board, the FAA mentioned. 5 adults have been discovered lifeless on the scene in rugged terrain a few mile (1.6 kilometers) west of the airport, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Workplace mentioned.
The airfield is called the Airport within the Sky due to its location at an elevation of 1,602 toes (488 meters) on the island about 25 miles (40 kilometers) off the coast of Los Angeles. It has a single, 3,000-foot (914-meter) runway.
