Younger Artists’ Summer time Present 2024 on the Royal Academy

From 16 July to 11 August 2024, the Royal Academy of Arts presents its Younger Artists’ Summer time Present 2024

The Royal Academy of Arts presents the sixth annual Younger Artists’ Summer time Present opening within the Clore Studying Centre and on-line from Tuesday 16 July. The exhibition shows a collection of works by younger artists aged 4-19 (Early Years Basis Stage and Key Phases 1-5) from throughout the UK, chosen by a panel of judges together with Royal Academicians and RA Colleges college students. This 12 months, 21,566 entries have been obtained from 3,362 registered faculties.

Because the Royal Academy’s basis in 1768, artwork schooling has been at its coronary heart. The Younger Artists’ Summer time Present offers a platform for the expert and diversified work of scholars, champions the significance of artwork in schooling and celebrates the academics fostering creativity in younger folks.

A lot of prizes will probably be awarded to younger artists for excellent works within the exhibition, together with the President’s Prize, which will probably be awarded by Rebecca Salter, President of the Royal Academy, for a person work. Guests may also have the chance to vote for his or her favorite paintings in a Individuals’s Alternative Award. Voting will probably be open on-line from Tuesday 16 July – Friday 30 August 2024. The Younger Artists’ Summer time Present is supported by philanthropist Robin Hambro.

Rebecca Salter PRA, stated: “It is wonderful to see that the Young Artists’ Summer Show, now in its sixth year, is as popular as ever with young artists. It remains a key date in the Royal Academy’s calendar. The number and quality of submissions reflects the vital role that art plays in the lives of young people and I am pleased the Royal Academy continues to offer a space to support and celebrate this talent.”

Molly Bretton, Head of Studying on the Royal Academy, stated: “We’re passionate about championing the importance of art in education so we’re thrilled to be celebrating six years of the Young Artists’ Summer Show. We received a wealth of submissions, and they demonstrate the incredible imagination and skill of young artists and the amazing contribution of teachers working to nurture creativity across the UK. We’re looking forward to sharing their work and to welcoming visitors to enjoy the exhibition both at the RA and in our online show.”
